[He doesn't really have an explanation for that, and so he pauses in a sort of dumbfounded manner.]

Yeah. He doesn't know how it could be true, either. But...we both remember all the same stuff. He...feels the same way about me.

[She smiles at that. It's a genuine, warm smile.]

Greg's a good guy. If he's really your dad... I think it's good for you both.

[He smiles a little too, though it's still a little awkward and unsure.]

Yeah...I think so, too.

I just wish...that I understood how it could be real. How he can be my dad while still being what he's like now...

[She considers this.]

Well... you said this is stuff we're supposed to have, right? So I never had scars before, and my hair used to be brown. And these eyes changed a bunch about me.

Maybe it's like that.

[He has to think about that, too - it's complicated, to be sure.]

So you mean...maybe he's supposed to be my dad, but...for some reason he wasn't, at first? But now he is again...?

Well, it's like... I had a vision about a sister. She was about my age, but I was only little... younger than you. And we were caught in a fire.

And now the scars are there. Maybe it's like that.

[His face falls. That sounds way more terrible than anything he's been thinking about. He reaches out to take her hand, briefly.]

I'm sorry...that that's a thing that happened. And that the scars came back, if you didn't want them.

[She ruffles his hair in response.] I'm okay. It doesn't hurt or anything.

But if Greg's your dad... maybe it's just kinda coming out now. Like the scars are. If you both think that's it...
