Short Description: ► Miniature rebel and preteen heart throb, Steven "Tiger" Universe is a whole lot of stage presence in a very small package. Also, he is kind of a jerk, though most of that is the frustrated lashing out of a confused, messed up kid. The audience loves him, though!
Huh? I didn't notice anything... [It doesn't itch or anything... Kido blinks as she looks over her shoulder but... it's dark and her hair's getting in the way.]
[He reaches up with his hand again, brushing lightly against her shoulder - and then his hand flinches back in a moment to surprise. If it's a rash, it feels super bubbly or blistery or something.]
...You...we should take a look to make sure it's okay. It feels weird.
[She gropes around for the light next to her bed and winces when it turns on, temporarily blinding her. She gathers her hair in her hand and pulls it over her opposite shoulder.
The burn scars reach across her back and down beneath the fabric of her shirt. They're old. Like more than a decade of healing old.]
For all I know I'm possessed by alien parasites. It's no crazier than anything else. Is there something?
Scars? [She's confused. She doesn't know how that could even be a thing. That was one of the few things she had going for her. Her skin had always been p. much flawless.]
[He feels and sounds shy about it. At this point, the immediate shock over the scars has passed - she's not in pain, and so it's easier to calm down about it.]
It's like...something weird happened, don't you think? To us.
It's like we just don't remember. Like...like my dad.
[He's further along this train of thought that he's really admitted to a lot of people, but it isn't like he doesn't trust Kido deeply already. It's just taken him a long time to verbally accept it himself.]
I remember him being really nice, and funny, and smart about stuff...and we lived in a van near the beach together. I...I remember loving him a lot.

Not lately. Why?

I think your shoulder might be getting rashy from something...
no subject
Does it look bad?

He can imagine how this happened.]
Yeah...they're scars. They don't hurt...?
no subject
But I never hurt my back.
no subject
Did...did you...those guys...?
no subject
But the guys in the mask.] I played a duet with someone.

[He trails off uncertainly, unsure how much to say. He looks down at the bed.]
That's...that's how I got this.
[He tugs up his shirt just a little - enough to see his gem.]

Does it hurt?
no subject
No...it feels really...normal? Like it fits right in there, and...and like it should be, I guess.
I think those same guys are giving us stuff we're supposed to have.

It would make sense. Genos said it too. That's how his eyes were supposed to be...]
Then where'd they go?

[He stares into the darkness between them.]
I...I hate the dad I remember. But...sometimes I remember him being different. Like he was always someone else, who actually loved me.
It doesn't make any sense but...I just feel like it's real. I don't know how.

She closes her eyes and turns back to him.]
Want to tell me about him?

Sounds way more like you'd take after a guy like that. It'd make sense to love somebody like that.

[He trails off, unsure of how much to say. Eventually, though...]
I think...I know him. Here. In this place, too.

[He's quiet for a moment, too reluctant to spit it out, until...]
Greg Universe.

[He doesn't really have an explanation for that, and so he pauses in a sort of dumbfounded manner.]
I don't really get it either.
